BTL.CVM

Please expand this page. The reason given is: |
The BTL.CVM is a file found in the PS2 versions of Persona 3 and Persona 4. In Persona 4, some of the contents got moved to the DATA.CVM, but both games store battle/dungeon-relevant data in this CVM. Persona 4's BTL.CVM is divided up into 3 folders: "BATTLE", "MODEL_BTL", and "SKILL". Most RMD models in the game, including in-battle PAC archives for playable characters, but excluding bosses and enemies got moved to the DATA.CVM.
BATTLE[edit | edit source]
Five folders can be found in the BATTLE directory, along with the following files:
- AICALC.TBL
- BSV105.BVP (Rise naivgator BVP)
- BSV108.BVP (Teddie naivgator BVP)
- EFFECT.TBL
- ENCOUNT.TBL
- MODEL.TBL
- MSG.TBL (TBL containing skill/party member/arcana/Persona names)
- PERSONA.TBL
- SKILL.TBL
- UNIT.TBL
BOSS[edit | edit source]
The BOSS folder contains 16 BIN files containing boss-related scripts and ACX sound effects.
CUTIN[edit | edit source]
The CUTIN folder contains some unused graphics, as well as the Cutin EPL files that appear when a playable character (or boss) delivers a critical hit.
EFFECT[edit | edit source]
The BTLEFF.BIN AND SHADOW_S.BED files can be found here.
PANEL[edit | edit source]
The BIN files BTLPANEL.BIN and BTLPANELOP.BIN are stored here. Both contain SPR files that make up the in-battle HUD. The only difference is that BTLPANELOP.BIN is used for the opening of the game and uses an icon of Yu Narukami without glasses.
RESULT[edit | edit source]
BIN files BR_MSG.BIN, SHUFFLE_S.BIN, SHUFFLE_W.BIN, SIMPLE_S.BIN and SIMPLE_W.BIN can be found here as well as SPR file SF_TIME00.SPR.
S stands for Summer while W stands for Winter, indicating the different outfits for the protagonist that are used in the contained TMX graphics.
Also, SIMPLE indicates that the BIN is for the results screen and not Shuffle Time.
MODEL_BTL[edit | edit source]
This directory contains 3 subfolders related to battle models.
ENEMY[edit | edit source]
This directory contains the 14 ACX voice files for bosses. Unlike Persona 3, they aren't contained in a PAK archive.
PACK[edit | edit source]
This directory contains 336 enemies in PAC files, containing their RMDs and SE files. Unlike Persona 3, party member models are not found in the BTL.CVM. They have been moved to the MODEL/PACK directory of the DATA.CVM.
PERSONA[edit | edit source]
In-battle Persona RMD files are stored here. For a full list of Personas in Persona 4, see below.
